Affinity Groups
Dyke News
What is happening within the Philly Dyke community and why does one have to access hundreds of insta profiles to find out? This group wants to create a newspaper to share community events, opportunities, history and stories by Philly Dykes.
Email phillydykenews@gmail.com for information and to join.
Dyke Spaces / Events (on hiatus)
While there are many lesbian-friendly bars, restaurants, and/or venues, there are still no lesbian-designated spaces in Philly (with the exception of the Dyke+ ArtHaus). This group is interested in creating events by Dykes for other Dykes that doesn't necessarily include alcohol.
Education
This group is interested in reading essays, articles, or books about various dyke-related subjects and discussing them.
Mutual Aid
Mutual aid involves voluntary, collaborative exchanges of resources and services for community members to overcome social, economic, and political barriers to meeting common needs. This can include food, clothing, medicine, and more.
New Lesbian Flag (on hiatus)
The sunset lesbian flag is centered in whiteness and femininity. Many masculine-presenting lesbians feel non-represented by the feminine-coded colors of pink, purple and orange. Additionally, the color purple is in reference to Sappho which is white lesbian history. This group is interested in creating a flag that represents all gender expressions within lesbianism and includes BIPOC.
POC-Centered Culture Share
While there are many lesbian-friendly bars, restaurants, and/or venues, there are still no lesbian-designated spaces in Philly (with the exception of the Dyke+ ArtHaus). This group is interested in creating events by Dykes for other Dykes that doesn't necessarily include alcohol.

how we began
“What’s Up With the Dyke Scene in Philly?” That’s the question that brought a group of mostly strangers to a “Salon in the Parlor" Conversation at the Dyke+ ArtHaus in Philly in May, 2023.
By the end of that passionate discussion the group agreed to organize a City-Wide Dyke Meeting to bring Philly Dykes together to start a collective using an Affinity Group structure.
That meeting was held on Summer Solstice 2023 and the Philly Dyke Collective was born.
